<p><strong>Tell us a bit about your company and what it offers </strong></p>
<p>Who we are</p>
<p>Thank You Nicole for interviewing LadyPR. LadyPR is a women centered newswire service that distributes press releases for companies and individuals looking to promote there products and services to women consumers.</p>
<p>Our goal is to also help women business owners effectively promote themselves and gain recognition within the media and amongst their peers without the assistance of a public relations company. Not only are clients able to manage their own pr efforts and monitor the results, they can do it at a very affordable price without long term contracts or fees.</p>
<p>What we offer</p>
<p>We provide two distinct services: 1. press release distribution to women-centered media and 2. press release writing.</p>
<p>Our press release distribution service includes a seven day press watch report, search engine optimization, unlimited targeted distribution of a clients release release and other features that help increase press opportunities.</p>
<p>Our press release writing service includes a dynamically written release in standard news release format, quick turn around and guaranteed satisfaction with unlimited review. Customers can couple both services for additional savings.</p>
<p>In our research we have found that many businesses overlook using professional marketing strategies and services to promote their businesses due to several factors.</p>
<p>1. They don’t have the money and in this recession everyone is cutting costs.<br />
And 2. Many want to manage their own marketing. With so many small businesses created each day there are many owners that wear many hats.</p>
<p>These business owners need the simplest, cost-effective way to promote their business.</p>
<p><strong>How did your business come to be? </strong></p>
<p>We first started as a public relations company that “Gives Small Businesses a Personality”. Majority of our clients were women-owned businesses and after seeing the potential in the women’s business market coupled with the difficulty of acquiring new clients that were scaling back their marketing budget we decide to offer a service that had no long term commitment and gave businesses what they wanted: Press with no strings attached.</p>
<p>After talking with a few women business owners at networking events we recognized that many of them wrote there own press releases but didn’t fully understand how to get there press releases in the right hand or have an medium to do it. This is when my partner and I came up with the idea to create a women centered newswire service. We knew that there were other newswire services available but none that focused specifically on women. By creating this service we knew that we would be addressing the major issues small business owners face while and providing a cost effective way to address them.</p>
<p><strong>How does your service differ from a service like PRWeb? </strong></p>
<p>We differ from PRWeb simply because we distribute specifically to women interest publications, journalist, editors, producers and television networks as well as to hi-profile bloggers. We also take a hands-on approach when it comes to helping companies and individuals reach their target audience. <p><strong>Do you have any advice for getting more mileage out of your releases? </strong></p>
<p>The internet is an important tool when distributing your press release. You should always add things like keywords and hyperlinks to your website, blog and social media sites. Another way to get more mileage out of your releases is to add it to your website by creating a press room or newsroom on your site for all the press that you receive going forward.  This includes the releases that you write yourself. By doing this you optimize your chances of being found by journalist, editors and search engine robots that crawl for content which increase web ranking. Be sure to keep your newsroom up date and full of interesting information.</p>
<p><strong>Do you have a referral program? </strong></p>
<p>We don’t currently have a referral program but we plan to have one in the near future.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It was my pleasure today to interview my good friend, Vera Raposo, about branding your Service-based business.</p>
<p>Vera is the owner of SmallBusinessBranding.com and here&#8217;s her bio to learn more about this dynamo:</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">Vera Raposo has been an entrepreneur since age 22, literally negotiating a lease for her first retail store in 1997, which then also began her online business with eBay.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">By Summer of 2000, her stores grew to 5 retail locations in Vancouver, British Columbia. By the age of 29 she re-evaluated her life, and literally sold &amp; closed all store locations.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">Since January of 2003 Vera has developed marketing plans for her own online business and has landed inside books and magazines for her hobby of scrapbooking.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">“I’ve never ever believed in the word can’t. I have always had big dreams for myself and my family which has caused me to strive for excellence in everything.”</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">Vera went on to consult with local retail business owners about adding online business to their offline business plans.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">Today I also host an enthusiasts podcast called Scrappers Talk Radio (<a title="http://www.scrapperstalkradio.com" href="http://www.scrapperstalkradio.com/" target="_blank">www.scrapperstalkradio.com</a>). All proceeds from this podcast is donated to Mercy Ministries.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">I am living out an entrepreneurs dream having successfully turned business into a venture that’s completely online.</p>
